{hotel spotlight} Four Seasons Silicon Valley

I recently visited the Four Seasons Silicon Valley and definitely liked what I saw.  When you drive up to the hotel you feel like you’re arriving at a Four Seasons.  The staff was extremely welcoming.

The hotel is located in Palo Alto, CA in a corporate office complex.  This is a great hotel for teams wanting to get away from the office for a meeting and stay on property.  You’re also just a short drive down University Avenue to some amazing restaurants.

The details…

200 sleeping rooms
7,000 square feet of meeting space
6 meeting rooms

This hotel can easily sleep and feed groups of 75 with a classroom set-up or 160 with a theater set-up.  Both with minimal AV with these max capacities.  One thing to keep in mind – groups looking for day meetings might have a tough time getting space because of the rooms to space ratio.

The hotel has a great pool deck that would be ideal for receptions as well as the terrace just off their restaurant.  They also have a well equiped fitness center and spa which is always an added plus.

If you are looking for something higher end for your group – this is definitely a place you will want to check out.  The area is defintely lacking in the higher end accommodations.  The closest comparision would be the Rosewood Sandhill in Menlo Park or the Hotel Valencia Santana Row in San Jose.

{event trend} King of Pops

Tired of the boring break at your events? Or need something imaginative on the tradeshow floor?

Bring in a popsicle cart!  It’s sure to be a crowd pleaser.

(and don’t have the hotel or convention center put them in a bucket – part of the fun is the CART!)

You can even brand the cart with your logo and messaging to add that special spark.

Food Styling for Corporate Events

Do you think it matters how the food is presented on the buffet?

At ROAR, we think it makes a huge difference.

When an attendee walks out of a meeting room and sees the standard buffet – first thought is boring.

Which do you think looks better?

Fruit Salad – This or That?

Cookie Break ~ This or That?

With just little changes, you can take your events from
ordinary to extraordinary.

Donuts & Vodka?

The Donut…Sunday mornings, the newspaper and a cup of Jo.  When you think of donuts – that’s typically what comes to mind.

Did you know that the Donut is trendy now?

There is the donut hole, the mini donut, the sauces and ohhh…VODKA?  Yes, you heard correctly…VODKA!

The Entertaining Company is one of my favorite caterers in Chicago.  Why you might ask – they are so creative.

This beauty above is a new little cocktail they’ve created…vodka, ginger ale, and pink lemonade topped with a donut hole that’s stuffed with Mascarpone mousse and pink frosting and sprinkles to top it off.

Now if you ask me – that’s creative.

Enjoy!!

A Spook-tacular Time…

Corporations celebrate holidays as a way to boost morale and to say {Thank You!} for your dedication.

Oktoberfest, St. Paddy’s Day, Holiday Parties and one of the most popular…H A L L O W E E N!

Halloween is huge because it’s the one celebration that employees can incorporate their families.  That is so important especially now when so much time is spent at the office.

I personally think it’s difficult to find decor for Halloween shindigs that aren’t so cutesy.  UNTIL now.

A company that I follow {Anders Ruff Custom Designs} creates party printables.  Their primary focus has been children’s party.  I was delighted to see their Halloween Collection (that debut on the Hostess with the Mostess blog) which has a wonderful appeal for both adults and children.

By just adding these creative elements to your treats and drinks…all the monsters both big and little will have a spook-tacular time.

Enjoy!
